TN IECMH ECHO EBHV Training: Partnering with Interpreters: Best Practices for Effective and Respectful Communication

Date: November 18, 2025

Time: 11:30am CST / 12:30pm EST

Description: This training equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to work effectively with interpreters in family and community settings. Participants will learn the role and responsibilities of interpreters, explore best practices for scheduling and conducting interpreted sessions, and discover how to build trust and maintain confidentiality. Through real examples and reflective discussion, participants will identify common challenges—such as misinterpretation or limited interpreter availability—and explore practical solutions for fostering clarity, cultural responsiveness, and collaboration.

By the end of the session, participants will understand how to:

·       Partner with interpreters to ensure accurate, respectful communication.

·       Create welcoming environments where every voice is heard and understood.

·       Strengthening relationships with families through empathy, transparency, and trust.

The ECHO platform is centered around sharing knowledge, so ALL are welcome whether you're new in the field or have 20+ years of experience!
